The Sustainable Activities Promotion Group of the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH Center) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized a practical training event titled “Train of the Trainer: Brainstorming on Energy Conservation and Energy Technology” on July 24, 2023. The event took place at the Pinij Wittaya Conference Room in the Learning and Science Building.

Attended by 50 students, the training session saw the participation of the student leader team “Green Heart”, who collaborated to exchange knowledge and propose strategies to promote energy conservation and energy technology. The aim was to advocate for reduced energy consumption and support the use of clean energy. This aligns with KMUTT’s goal to ensure sustainable energy conservation, environmental care, and the creation of a learning society and sustainable green community within the university.

The activities of the event are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically:

  • Goal 4: Ensuring inclusive and quality education for sustainable development.
  • Goal 7: Ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
  • Goal 13: Taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

This initiative is designed to cultivate a “Green Heart” among students and shape them into “Change Agents”. The idea is to disseminate and expand the understanding of energy conservation, environmental safety, and health consciousness to the community and society at large. KMUTT aims to foster a Green Heart network to promote the university as an environmentally-conscious institution through the leadership of its student teams. These teams play a vital role in organizing activities that have a broader and sustainable impact.
