KMUTT set up university’s Sustainability Office since 2015which play a major role to exercise on Green university for sustainability concept and adopted KMUTT Sustainability Strategic plan 2020 since December 2015 which revised for continual improvement each year. This has been done to comprise of seven key elements including Green Infrastructure, Energy and Climate change, Waste, Water, Transportatio ,Education& Learning and Safety with goal and target. KMUTT is now in the process to develop KMUTT Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030 which comply to the university policy and KMUTT Strategic Plan 2030 .KMUTT committed to be Sustainable University for SDG 2030 since 2017 which comply the global and national sustainable agenda and to promote the development of sustainability leadership “Green Heart “on our campus. Green Heart ‘s student plays a major role on sustainable activities in KMUTT by using “actions from everyone, everywhere” campaign. KMUTT proud to produce Green heart from our university as change agents to be leader which make social and the world sustainable.

At present, sustainability is a major challenge for both present and future generation. KMUTT plan to educate and encourage our students to learn outside classroom. All activities from operations, teaching and conducting research must concern on environmental impact. By this activities, student could understand more on environmental crisis and sustainable development. In addition, KMUTT aims to be an ideal environment campus for developing awareness and innovative solutions. Our student and staff have a responsibility to support KMUTT’s sustainability agenda and promote the development of sustainability leadership within campus.

As a result, our student becoming a change agent under the concept of “Green Heart ” who help the community and society to achieve a better quality of life.

To support a Green University, KMUTT commitment to provide role models on energy and environment, safety management systems and activities related to energy and environmental saving for our students and colleagues. Furthermore, KMUTT’s sustainability office following with KMUTT’s sustainability strategic plan (2010-2020) is set up in December 2010. KMUTT’s sustainability strategic plans are compose of six key elements including Green Infrastructure, Energy and Climate change, Waste, Water, Transportation and Education and Learning. Under the first five years’ plan, we bring energy and environmental management system policy becoming the priority implementation. The year after, KMUTT committed to be Green University according to SDG 2030 which comply the global and national sustainable agenda and promoting the development of sustainability leadership within campus. Regarding outstanding contribution from student and staff, the system implementation has been running with significant progress over the past five years in every campus.

To become a successful sustainable University, the corporation from partnerships like governments, the private sector and civil society are important. These inclusive partnerships built upon principles and values, vision and goals for both regional and national level. Therefore, KMUTT is one of International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) member since 2016. The ISCN provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching. The ISCN provides a global forum for universities pursuing sustainability across their educational and research missions, and operations. ISCN Members commit to sustainability principles and report their performance according to the ISCN-GULF Sustainable Campus Charter which was jointly developed with the World Economic Forum’s Global University Leaders Forum. Presently, more than 80 universities from more than 30 countries are represented in ISCN network.
