At KMUTT, safety is a core value woven into every aspect of campus life. We uphold five key safety commitments—workplace safety, laboratory and workshop safety, road safety, life safety, and food safety—which define the attitudes and behaviors we expect from everyone who studies, works, or visits our university.
These commitments reflect the promise KMUTT makes to every student and staff member: that safety comes first, always. We aim to create an environment where students can thrive academically and return home safely every day. Our dedication to these principles ensures that KMUTT is not just a place of learning, but a secure and supportive community that values well-being above all else.
Workplace Safety
Workplace safety at KMUTT focuses on creating a secure and hazard-free environment for students, faculty, and staff. This includes implementing building codes, green building standards, and risk assessments to ensure all administrative offices, learning spaces, workshops, and pilot plants are structurally sound and safe to use.
Through continuous monitoring and adherence to regulations, KMUTT minimizes risks associated with accidents, fire hazards, and occupational health concerns. Safety guidelines and emergency preparedness protocols are established to prevent workplace incidents and promote a culture of safety across the university.
Lab & Workshop Safety
Laboratory and workshop safety at KMUTT prioritizes chemical, biosafety, electrical, mechanical, and radioactive safety measures. Proper risk assessments are conducted to prevent exposure to hazardous substances and ensure compliance with international safety standards.
Safety protocols include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling and storage of chemicals, and routine inspections of lab equipment. Training programs help students and researchers develop safe practices when working in high-risk environments.
Road Safety
Road safety at KMUTT aims to promote smart and safe driving and riding within the campus. It emphasizes the importance of sharing the road, following traffic rules, and using safe driving practices to reduce accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
The university provides courses and instructional manuals to educate students and staff on road safety. Additionally, campus route maps and risk assessments help optimize traffic management and ensure safer transportation within the university premises.
Life Safety
Life safety at KMUTT encompasses emergency preparedness and personal security measures. The university ensures the availability of EMS vehicles, risk assessments, and dormitory safety protocols to protect students and staff from potential hazards.
Safety instructions for emergency situations, such as fire outbreaks or medical incidents, are provided to reduce the risk of injury or loss of life. KMUTT encourages a culture of responsibility and awareness to enhance overall campus safety.
Food Safety
Food safety at KMUTT ensures that students and staff have access to clean food and drinking water, free from contamination and harmful substances. The university promotes food hygiene and discourages the use of foam food packaging to reduce environmental impact.
KMUTT advocates for healthy eating habits by supporting pesticide-free fruits and vegetables. Regular food quality inspections and strict hygiene standards help maintain a safe and sustainable food environment on campus.
Sustainable food choices on campus. KMUTT has sold healthy food and developed a safe food system within the university since 2010, with rules for selecting restaurant operators. Shops across all four canteens offer healthy and vegetarian options made from local ingredients, including halal food for Islamic students and staff. Portion sizes (S, M, L, XL) let consumers choose the right amount and help reduce food waste on campus.
