The Bike Share for Free
The KMUTT Zombike project is an initiative by the Green Bike Club to promote cycling on campus. Students and staff can rent bicycles free of charge by following six simple steps below.
Six Steps to Rent a Zombike
Free Bicycle Rentals
KMUTT offers free bicycle rentals to students and staff to encourage sustainable transport and reduce the campus carbon footprint.
Deposit Requirement
A deposit of 500 Baht is required for each rental as a guarantee against potential damage or loss.
First Repair Date
The first maintenance session was held on Thursday, 22 December 2011 at 4:30 PM at Industrial Shop 4 (OLD). Regular maintenance keeps bicycles in good condition.
Workshop for Bicycle Maintenance
A professional workshop teaches participants how to repair and maintain bicycles, with all necessary tools and materials provided.
Registration and Painting
Students and staff register their rental and take part in a bicycle painting activity so each bike is identifiable and well maintained.
End of Semester Return
Bicycles stay under the renter care for the semester. After safe return at the end of term, the 500 Baht deposit is refunded.
The Zombike project reflects KMUTT commitment to sustainability, promoting a healthier, greener campus where students and staff can enjoy the benefits of cycling while reducing environmental impact.
Zombike Used Bicycle Repair & Reuse
KMUTT Green Bike Club created the Zombike project to repair abandoned bicycles on campus. The process has 10 steps. In 2020, 195 Zombike bicycles were available for Bike Share Services.
