On August 19, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Management Center (EESH) and its network of working groups, hosted the 22nd Annual Safety Week at the Learning Exchange Building. The event was themed “Happy University – Healthy in Body, Mind, and Sustainable Safety in Every Aspect: Safe Driving, Caring for Every Path” and aimed to raise awareness and understanding of workplace safety while promoting health and well-being among students and staff at all levels within the university.

Assistant Professor Suchada Chaisawadi, Advisor to the EESH Center, delivered the opening address, while Dr. Arnon Nopparat, Vice President of KMUTT Bangkhuntien, presided over the ceremony, with university executives in attendance.

This year’s Safety Week featured the announcement of KMUTT’s Road Safety Policy, emphasizing respect for traffic rules and safe use of roads and pedestrian crossings. The event was organized in collaboration with the Rasburana Metropolitan Police Station and Thung Khru District Office.

The event also included the KMUTT Commitment: Happy Health and Well-being Workplace declaration, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Vice President for Student and Learner Development. Various activities were held, such as the presentation of safety awards for laboratories that passed the National Research Council of Thailand’s Peer Evaluation, recognition awards for individuals and units supporting energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety, and the distribution of First Aid Kits to internal departments.

Additionally, the event showcased the work of Miss Chintana Siriwan and Miss Phakjira Thampanuvat from the Media Arts program, School of Architecture and Design, with their project “Moody Roady,” a website design for road accident awareness. Other university departments, such as the Building and Facilities Management Division, Office of Student Affairs, KMUTT Health and Wellness Unit (HCU), and the Physical Resource Management Office at Bangkhuntien, also presented exhibits on safety and sustainability, and health and wellness activities were held throughout the week from August 19-22, 2024.
