On November 18, 2025, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by the KMUTT Bangmod Energy Management Committee, hosted the “KMUTT Energy Saving Day 2025” at the Learning Exchange (LX) Building. The event aimed to promote awareness of energy efficiency and create a collaborative learning space for students and staff to drive the university toward energy and environmental sustainability.
The event commenced with a welcome address and project overview by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amornrat Kaewpradub, Vice Chairperson of the Energy Management Committee. The official opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, who emphasized the vital role of the KMUTT community in fostering a culture of mindful energy consumption and reducing environmental impacts.
Showcasing Modern Energy Management: Dr. Preecha Akras from the Office of Building and Grounds presented the 2025 energy management performance report for the Bangmod campus, highlighting the university’s progress and future development roadmap.
Expert Keynote Sessions: The event featured specialized lectures to broaden perspectives on digital-era energy management:
- “Carbon Footprint and Sustainable Energy Management” by Ms. Satida Hanwanich from Entech Industrial Solution Co., Ltd.
- “Digital Power Management Solution for Building” by Ms. Jariyaporn Phuphongpha from Schneider (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Student Innovation & Creative Contests: Students were given a platform to present creative ideas for energy efficiency through an Energy Saving Poster Contest. The winners are as follows:
- First Prize: Ms. Supawadee Yodsuwan for “Green Smart Hub KMUTT”
- First Runner-up: Mr. Burathat Butsang for “EcoPad: Green Energy Absorbent Pad from Water Hyacinth Fibers”
- Second Runner-up & Popular Vote: Ms. Natcharee Sumeruwhai for “Watt-A-Quest”
- Honorable Mention: Mr. Swam Htet Naing for “LX-Sense: Privacy-First Computer Vision For Smart Energy Saving”
The “KMUTT Energy Saving Day 2025” serves not only as a knowledge-sharing platform but also as an inspiration for the KMUTT community to prioritize efficient energy use, pushing the university toward a long-term sustainable and eco-conscious society.
