Invitation for Thai Women to Participate in Self-Screening for Cervical Cancer Using HPV DNA Testing
The Health and Wellness Services Division of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Department of Medical Sciences, invites students, staff, and all interested individuals to participate in a free self-screening program for cervical cancer using the HPV DNA Test. Those interested can register to receive a sample collection kit via the designated registration link.

It can identify up to 14 high-risk HPV strains. This method offers a detection sensitivity of 90–95%, delivers rapid and accurate results, and provides greater effectiveness compared to other screening methods. It enables early detection of the virus during the stage when infected cells may begin to develop into cervical cancer.

Free Sanitary Pad Distribution at Bang Mod Campus
Sanitary pads are one of the basic necessities for all women, yet they often become a financial burden that affects daily life. This issue has given rise to what is known as “period poverty,” reflecting inequality in access to essential hygiene products.
Recognizing the importance of this issue, the Health and Wellness Services Division under the Office of the President, in collaboration with KMUTT Petch Prachomklao scholarship students, has initiated the “Sanitary Pad Welfare for KMUTT Students” project (Phase 1). The aim is to improve accessibility for female students, reduce financial burdens, and provide emergency support during menstruation.
Although the pads are distributed free of charge, the project places great emphasis on product quality. The selected brand, “Ira,” offers high-quality sanitary pads with outstanding features: soft texture, breathable material, and non-irritating properties. They are free from chemicals, dyes, fragrances, and other harmful substances, helping to reduce allergic reactions. Additionally, Ira pads do not contain SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer), a plastic component that absorbs menstrual blood and may lead users to delay changing pads. By excluding SAP, the product encourages more frequent pad changes, promoting better menstrual hygiene overall.

Five Sanitary Pad Distribution Points at KMUTT
King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) has established five sanitary pad distribution points across the campus to promote menstrual hygiene and support student health welfare. These locations are intended to ensure easy access for female students and provide emergency support during menstruation.
The sanitary pads are available at the following locations:

- Restroom, 1st Floor, Classroom Building 2 (CB2)
- Restroom, 1st Floor, Witsawawatthana Building (INNO-X Wing)
- Restroom, 2nd Floor, King Mongkut Memorial Building (“KFC”), Right Wing
This initiative is part of the university’s sanitary pad welfare program, which aims to provide convenient, accessible, and reliable menstrual support for students in need.

Mindfulness matters
A group of student leaders organized a project to promote mental health knowledge through innovation and an art exhibition, Mental Health Exhibition & Hackathon 2024. Psychologists were invited as speakers to conduct sub-activities, allowing participants to learn and understand themselves and others through group psychological processes. This project strengthened their knowledge, experience, and skills in managing their emotions and problems independently. They also practiced sensory awareness, connecting body and mind through the warmth of aromas, using “My Cup of Coffee” drip coffee, and brewing “Matcha Moments.” The activity was divided into four sessions. The event took place on April 22-23, 2024, on the 4th floor of the Learning Exchange (LX) Building. There were 24 participants.
Students who participated in the project expressed their positive feedback on the activity, stating that it helped them understand themselves, learn to give themselves time, focus on themselves, and pay more attention to their feelings. They also encouraged them to use their free time productively, focus on themselves, and be more mindful of their own actions. They also encouraged them to organize relaxation and meditation activities more frequently, especially after class (after 5:00 PM).

GCDC Mission Based Learning Faculty of Liberal Arts
The Faculty of Liberal Arts organized the GCDC Mission-Based Learning activity, titled “Back to Your School: Designing Your Life.” Psychologists collaborated with educational developers to design activities for students to practice exploring and designing their life paths through a reflective card game called “Odyssey Plan.” Three options were selected: a feasible plan, a challenging plan, and a seemingly feasible plan. Questions were asked to test and refine the plan in real life, based on the book “Designing Your Life,” which emphasizes the use of Design Thinking to design a meaningful life. The event took place on Monday, August 26th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at SoLA401, 4th floor, Faculty of Liberal Arts (N15). Four students participated.
