Admission Criteria for Students with Disabilities Project, Academic Year 2568
In compliance with the announcement of the Committee for the Promotion of Education Management for Persons with Disabilities, regarding the criteria, rates, and items for educational subsidies for persons with disabilities at the higher education level.
By virtue of the authority under Section 27 of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Act B.E. 2541 (1998), with the approval of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Council in Meeting No. 303 on November 6, B.E. 2567 (2024), the University hereby issues the following announcement:
King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is accepting applications for undergraduate studies through the Thai University Central Admission System (TCAS) organized by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), under the Students with Disabilities Project for the Academic Year 2568.
Policy on Equality and Diversity in Society KMUTT is committed to promoting equality and diversity in society. KMUTT resolutely embraces diversity in society in terms of origin, race, language, gender, disability, physical or health condition, personal status, economic or social status, and religious belief. General Qualifications of Applicants
1. Must be a person with a disability who holds a Disability Identification Card according to the law, in accordance with the Promotion and Development of Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities Act B.E. 2550 (2007) and its amendments (No. 2) B.E. 2556 (2013).
2. Must be a person with a disability whose type of disability corresponds to the type of disability acceptable for admission as specified by the academic program.
3. Must have completed or be currently studying in Mathayom 6 (Grade 12).
4. The total number of credits for the group of core learning subjects must not be lower than that specified by the academic program.
5. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPAX) and Grade Point Average (GPA) for the Science, Mathematics, and Foreign Language subject groups must not be lower than that specified by the academic program.
6. Must not have any disease that poses an obstacle to studies, including working in laboratories, workshops, and/or enterprises, as follows:
6.1 Severe psychiatric problems that may be harmful to oneself and/or others, such as Psychotic Disorders, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, including other psychiatric issues.
6.2 Contagious diseases in the dangerous contagious stage that may be harmful to oneself or those in close proximity.
6.3 Non-contagious diseases that may be harmful to oneself or those in close proximity.
6.4 Other diseases further specified by the curriculum.
7. Must not have been expelled from any educational institution due to inappropriate behavior.
Conditions for Admission
- Successful candidates (both main and reserve lists) must confirm their choice of academic program—1 project, 1 academic program—within the KMUTT application system by the specified date. Failure to confirm will be considered as not wishing to study and the right to admission cannot be requested later. The University will also not submit the name of the successful candidate for rights management in the TCAS system of CUPT.
- In the case of being considered for admission, successful candidates must confirm their choice to study at KMUTT in the TCAS system by the specified date.
- Successful candidates who confirm their choice to study at KMUTT in the TCAS system will be cut from the list of eligible applicants for subsequent rounds. If they wish to apply for a subsequent round, they must first relinquish their right. If they apply again without relinquishing their right and are selected, the selection will be considered void.
- Successful candidates who confirm their choice to study at KMUTT in the TCAS system will be exempt from the confirmation fee for admission in the first semester of Academic Year 2568.

KMUTT HOLDS CLOSING CEREMONY FOR 11TH TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES KMUTT HOLDS CLOSING CEREMONY FOR 11TH TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, ENHANCING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
On October 28, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held a closing ceremony for its 11th Training and Internship Program for People with Disabilities. The event, hosted in the Phanthamas Room, KMUTT Seminar Building, celebrated the achievements of participants as they prepared for employment and entrepreneurship. Mr. Sumet Thamcharoen, Project Chairman, welcomed attendees and reported on the program’s progress, while Associate Professor Dr. Suvit Saetia, KMUTT President, congratulated participants and awarded certificates.
Running from May 1 to October 31, 2024, this six-month program trained 42 participants across three courses: Office Staff, Digital Media Production, and Local Handicraft Product Development. It was funded by companies under Thailand’s Persons with Disabilities Empowerment Act, Section 35, including Duniil Co., Ltd., Srihai Miyakawa Co., Ltd., Italian-Thai Development PCL, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction PCL, Stonehenge Inter PCL, Asian Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd., and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
The program, now in its 11th year, equips people with disabilities with job skills, adaptability, and social integration. In addition to preparing participants for workplace roles, it also opens pathways for self-employment. The project receives ongoing support from educational institutions, agencies supporting people with disabilities, and government bodies, including the Bangkok Employment Office Zone 2 and Thung Khru District Office, as well as KMUTT staff who contribute to the program’s success.

KMUTT FACULTY OF INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTS PHRAKANIT SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS “KMUTT FACULTY OF INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY ORGANIZES SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR PHRAKANIT SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS IN NORTHERN THAILAND”
On January 29, 2024, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held the second session of its support program for Phrakanit vocational scholarship students in collaboration with regional universities. This session, aimed at students, advisors, and university administrators in Northern Thailand, took place in the Arkom Kanchanaprasit Meeting Room, 4th floor, Ammuay Yotsuk Building, Maejo University, Chiang Mai.
The event was led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanet Tanittheeraphan, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology and project leader, along with Ms. Inthira Khamjira, project secretary, staff, and student advisors from over ten universities in the Northern network. The program’s objective is to foster a shared understanding of scholarship details, facilitate joint support, and enhance the development of scholarship students.
During the session, participants including scholarship students, advisors, and administrators—engaged in group discussions to explore collaborative strategies and share best practices for academic and research skill development. The program also emphasized planning future educational pathways, particularly for students who show potential but face financial or educational disadvantages, ensuring continued support until graduation. The initiative aims to empower capable young people who lack financial resources or opportunities, ultimately preparing them to contribute to Thailand’s economic and social advancement.

FIBO & NSTDA TRAINING FOR HEARING-IMPAIRED STUDENTS FIBO, IT FOUNDATION UNDER HRH PRINCESS MAHA CHAKRI SIRINDHORN, AND NSTDA ORGANIZE TRAINING ACTIVITY FOR HEARING-IMPAIRED STUDENTS AT THUNG MAHAMEK SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF
On February 9, 2024, the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Information Technology Foundation under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), organized a training activity for high school students with hearing impairments from Thung Mahamek School for the Deaf.
The event was led by Associate Professor Dr. Siam Charoensang, Project Leader for the development of a remote 3D printing learning system designed to support career development. The project falls under an initiative to develop human resources by engaging gifted secondary and vocational students in robotics, artificial intelligence, and coding (RAC). The training provided students with hands-on experience in creating inventions, technology projects, and skills for future career development.

MINISTRY OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORTS KMUTT DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT MODEL MINISTRY OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORTS KMUTT’S DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT TRAINING MODEL WITH FIVE UNIVERSITY PARTNERS FOR SUSTAINABLE CAREER DEVELOPMENT
On May 9, 2024, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), collaborated with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and five partner universities Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, Prince of Songkla University, Suan Dusit University (Suphanburi Campus), and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang to launch an academic partnership project aimed at enhancing employment training for people with disabilities.
The project introduction, held in the 7th-floor Auditorium of the Knowledge Exchange (KX) Building, presented KMUTT’s successful training model, in use for over 10 years, as a template for the new initiative. Distinguished guests attended, including Associate Professor Dr. Chuchat Kamollert, Director of Academic Services at Khon Kaen University; Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiwarong Luangwilai, Assistant to the President at Chiang Mai University; Dr. Waranee Wessunthontheep, Vice President of Suan Dusit University (Suphanburi Campus); and Associate Professor Dr. Suvit Saetia, KMUTT President.
The project has a budget of over 23 million THB and aims to train 300 participants in its first year (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025). Activities include job-role workshops, training courses, workplace adaptation, mentoring, partnerships with employers, and job placement support.

KMUTT NETWORK FOR EMPOWERING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES VISITS WAT PHRA SI RATTANA SATSADARAM AND ICONSIAM
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, a group of 40 participants with disabilities from KMUTT’s training program, which offers vocational courses for office (administrative and security) roles, visited Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram and ICONSIAM. This program, supported by the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities, aims to enhance educational outreach and opportunities for people with disabilities.
At ICONSIAM, the group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Pairat Wisetisirilak, Head of Customer Service, Ms. Mayucha Changnoi, Customer Relations Manager, and Mr. Sakon Sriwangphrai, Assistant Project Management Manager and Head of Security. They guided the visitors through the mall’s architectural highlights and accessible amenities, making this global destination memorable for the attendees.
Participants from KMUTT’s Continuing Education Center and security staff were able to enjoy a day of learning and engagement. Special thanks were extended to Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. and ICONSIAM for their hospitality and support.

KMUTT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ENHANCES SOCIAL SAFETY AWARENESS AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE SKILLS
On August 28, 2024, the KMUTT Training Program for People with Disabilities, in collaboration with the KMUTT Center for Continuing Education, organized a session to promote social safety awareness and emergency response skills for participants residing at the seminar building.
The session featured insights on self-care, social safety, and emergency response procedures, with Police Lieutenant Colonel Kongsak Srihon, Deputy Inspector of the Patrol and Special Operations Division, serving as the keynote speaker.
The training provided participants with essential knowledge to recognize potential threats, avoid dangerous situations, and understand the steps to seek help from the Royal Thai Police and other government agencies in emergencies. KMUTT’s program team expressed gratitude to the speaker and the Patrol and Special Operations Division for contributing to building confidence and preparedness among participants to manage emergencies effectively.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE PARTICIPATES IN EDUCATION AND CAREER GUIDANCE EXHIBITION “TRENDY TEMPLE FAIR, SHAPING THE FUTURE”
On September 5, 2024, the Faculty of Science participated in the educational and career guidance exhibition under the theme “Trendy Temple Fair, Shaping the Future” at Wat Suthiwararam School, one of the Faculty’s MOU partner schools.
The event aimed to provide students with valuable information on higher education, helping them make informed decisions about their academic paths and career planning based on their own strengths and interests.
The activities included an overview of KMUTT’s Faculty of Science, information on each program’s curriculum, the undergraduate admission process, preparatory courses, scholarships, and various faculty-led activities. This event served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaborative networks between higher education institutions and high schools. Through this guidance session, students gained insights into selecting higher education paths and preparing for university admission.

KMUTT SHOWCASES “HEDDI CRAFT” BY ARTISANS WITH DISABILITIES AT STUDENT DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR
Associate Professor Dr. Chaowalit Limmaniwit, Vice President for Student Development and Learning Support at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), attended the 2024 Student Development Seminar, themed “Empowering Minds for a Sustainable Future: Integrating SDGs in Higher Education,” hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.
In line with KMUTT’s theme of “Developing Students and Learners as Global Citizens,” KMUTT showcased “Heddi Craft,” a brand featuring products created by persons with disabilities. This initiative supports career development for persons with disabilities in Ban Nang Oi, Sakon Nakhon province.
The Heddi Craft project was developed by faculty from the School of Architecture and Design and KMUTT’s Continuing Education Center. Initially integrated into KMUTT’s classroom as part of courses like Collaborative Product Development and Craft Product Design, students engaged in hands-on experiences and collaborated with local artisans with disabilities to co-create products. FACULTY OF SCIENCE PARTICIPATES IN BKI SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CEREMONY 2024
On October 11, 2024, faculty members and students from the Department of Mathematics at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) attended the BKI Scholarship award ceremony at the Bangkok Insurance Building on South Sathorn Road. Ms. Walasa Sophonpanich, Assistant Executive Director of Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited, presented scholarships under the BKI Scholarship Program 2024 to undergraduate students with excellent academic records and commendable conduct. Recipients included students from fields such as Insurance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Technology from various educational institutions, with a total of 34 students receiving scholarships. Each scholarship recipient also received a Personal Accident Insurance (PA) policy with coverage of 200,000 baht per person per year, without any binding conditions. This year, three students from the Department of Mathematics at KMUTT were awarded scholarships. Additionally, graduates from the BKI Scholarship program were offered opportunities to apply for a variety of positions at Bangkok Insurance, contributing to the insurance industry and supporting the country’s growth.

KMUTT SIGNS MOU WITH MINISTRY OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT & FIVE UNIVERSITIES

On November 30, 2023, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security organized a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch a pilot project aimed at supporting educational institutions in enhancing the potential of people with disabilities and improving their quality of life.
The MOU was signed between the Ministry and six network universities, including King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Chiang Mai University, Prince of Songkla University, Khon Kaen University, and Suan Dusit University.
Mr. Anukool Piangkev, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, signed on behalf of the Ministry, alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, and the presidents of the participating universities.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities event, held from November 30 to December 1, 2023, at the Government Complex in Chaeng Watthana, featured various activities including performances by people with disabilities, motivational sessions, and exhibitions showcasing academic and practical products that empower people with disabilities nationwide.
KMUTT was also invited to deliver a keynote address on “Technology for People with Disabilities in Society 5.0” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siam Charoensang, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. KMUTT hosted a booth presenting innovations and inventions supporting employment for people with disabilities, along with the university’s achievements in enhancing their capabilities.
The MOU reinforces KMUTT’s decade-long commitment to working alongside people with disabilities by providing vocational training, fostering research, and developing accessible technology solutions. The university remains dedicated to sharing knowledge and collaborating with other educational and related organizations to help people with disabilities achieve sustainable independence, gainful employment, and self-worth.

- Students can either contact the DSSU Service Unit on the 2nd floor of the Office of the President building or send an email to dssu@kmutt.ac.th to fill in the service request form.
- In case of contact in person: The DSSU Coordinator shall check the document and interview to acquire additional information. In case of contact via email: The DSSU Coordinator shall check the document and make an appointment with the student for the interview to acquire additional information.

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through the Disability Support Service Unit (DSSU KMUTT) and the Student Financial Aid team, in collaboration with Health and Wellness Services, organized a Good Health & Well-Being Program aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Held in the Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Learning Exchange Building (LX) at KMUTT Bangmod, the program aimed to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of self-care practices for achieving sustainable personal and community well-being.The event was opened by Ms. Panadda Puangpee, Head of Student Financial Aid, who highlighted the program’s objectives to foster knowledge, understanding, and self-awareness among students. Special guest speakers included Mr. Thanakrit Likittarakul, a clinical psychologist, and Mr. Pol Lert Phuangsorn, a psychotherapist from the CBT Dee Tor Jai Center, who provided insights on mental health, self-care practices, and engaged in interactive discussions. The program welcomed over 70 participants, including students with disabilities, vocational trainees, general students, and staff, contributing to a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for mental and physical well-being.

Disabilities, under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), collaborated with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and five partner universities—Chiang Mai University, Khon Kaen University, Prince of Songkla University, Suan Dusit University (Suphanburi Campus), and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang—to launch an academic partnership project aimed at enhancing employment training for people with disabilities. The project introduction, held in the 7th-floor Auditorium of the Knowledge Exchange (KX) building, presented KMUTT’s successful training model, in use for over 10 years, as a template for the new initiative.Distinguished guests, including Associate Professor Dr. Chuchat Kamollert, Director of Academic Services at Khon Kaen University; Assistant Professor Dr. Chainarong Luangwilai, Assistant to the President at Chiang Mai University; Dr. Waranee Wesssunthontep, Vice President of Suan Dusit University (Suphanburi Campus); and Associate Professor Dr. Suvit Saetia, KMUTT President, shared their commitment to the project. Minister of Social Development and Human Security Warawut Silpa-archa delivered a statement on “Equal Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities,” followed by a special panel discussion on “University Plans and Programs to Empower People with Disabilities. “Supported by a budget of over 23 million THB from the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities, the project aims to train 300 participants in its first year (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025) across six steps: Collaborate with employers to identify job roles and develop relevant training.Recruit and select candidates based on eligibility and motivation. Provide a six-month comprehensive training covering vocational skills, workplace adaptation, and life skills.Promote employment through partnerships with public and private sectors. Implement a mentoring system for guidance and follow-up. Collect and analyze data to assess project impact and return on investment. Recruitment for the project is open from May 9–31, 2024, with training programs set to run from June to September. The initiative will support job placement and follow-up from October 2024 onward, aiming to create sustainable career paths for participants in the workforce.

1. Scope and Applicability
- Objective: To establish and maintain an environment at KMUTT free from sexual harassment or assault.
- Target Group: Covers the entire “KMUTT Community,” including administrators, lecturers, staff, employees, students, and any individuals working with the University.
- Definition of Sexual Harassment or Assault: Any unwelcome sexual act or behavior, whether verbal, textual, physical gesture, images, electronic media, or the abuse of power, that causes distress, discomfort, or a feeling of insecurity. This includes Quid Pro Quo (exchange of sexual acts for benefits). The act is not limited by gender, nationality, or location (it does not have to occur in the workplace).
2. Prohibited Behavior
The guidelines clearly define and prohibit the following types of undesirable behavior:
- Verbal: Using obscene/lewd language, criticizing body shape/sexually suggestive attire, spreading sexual rumors.
- Physical: Sexually suggestive touching without consent, hugging, holding, or stalking.
- Other: Displaying sexual images/objects on University premises, abusing a position of authority (e.g., faculty over student, supervisor over subordinate) for sexual purpose or connotation.
3. Actions to Take When Subjected to Harassment
- Clearly express “discontent” and distance oneself from the perpetrator’s actions.
- Document the incident (date, time, location, witnesses, and brief details) and gather evidence (audio/video clips, photographs) if possible.
- Immediately report the problem to a trusted person, supervisor, or the responsible unit.
4. Resolution Process (Clauses 10, 11)
- Informal Process (First Priority):
- The victim can attempt to resolve the issue personally (by telling/writing to the perpetrator to stop) or seek assistance from a coordinator/the perpetrator’s supervisor. This process involves fact-finding and an amicable settlement (within 15-30 days).
