The ceremony, presided over by Mr. Prasert Sin Sukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, honored the recipients of the Thailand Energy Awards 2023. The awards were contested in five categories: Renewable Energy, Energy Conservation, Creative Energy, Personnel, and Promoters of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy.

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaisawasdi, Acting Director of the Energy Environment Safety and Health Center, and Mr. Phadung Boonpech, Director of the Physical Resource Management Office, KMUTT Bang Khun Thian, along with their team, received a distinguished award in the category of Promoters of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy for Associations, Organizations, and Governmental Agencies for 2023.

This award reflects KMUTT’s ongoing efforts and cooperation from the KMUTT community, in line with the policy of becoming a model green university in energy conservation. Focusing on the development of the Bang Khun Thian educational area, or KMUTT Bang Khun Thian, in Tha Kham subdistrict, Bang Khun Thian district, the university emphasizes developing and instilling in students the role of being ‘Social Change Agents with Green Heart.’ This involves understanding technological development that addresses problems and assists communities while considering environmental impacts, ultimately leading to societal change. The focus is also on community collaboration to achieve sustainable community and societal development.
