Commitment to a Sustainable Future
King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is committed to advancing its vision of becoming a Sustainable Entrepreneurial University. The University has established a clear policy framework aimed at enhancing its capabilities for sustainable development by fostering a balanced integration of social well-being, environmental stewardship, and organizational prosperity. Guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as a foundation for decision-making, KMUTT strives to cultivate graduates and personnel who serve as “Change Agents with Green Hearts” to actively drive transformative change toward a more sustainable future for society and the environment.
Duties of the Sustainable Development Committee
To ensure the effective implementation of these policies, KMUTT has appointed a dedicated Sustainable Development Committee. The Committee shall have the following duties:
- Formulate sustainable development policies for King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), and submit them to the University Council for consideration and authorization to implement the policies in a concrete manner.
- Appoint subcommittees or working groups to drive and carry out activities for sustainable development in accordance with the established strategic objectives, and to prepare an implementation plan under the University’s sustainable development policy framework, including setting targets and expected outcomes.
- Support, promote, communicate, and coordinate so that all internal university units—faculties, offices, institutes, departments, and centers—participate in and comply with the University’s sustainable development policies.
- Support and promote the creation of collaborative networks both within and outside the University to enhance the University’s capacity for sustainable development.
- Supervise, monitor, and evaluate, and provide encouragement and support so that subcommittees, working groups, and all internal units of KMUTT can operate in alignment with the established policies and sustainability targets.
- Report operational results to the University Council on a quarterly basis.
