EESH Center and Industrial Instrument Calibration Center Host Training on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Standards
On January 28–29, 2019, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH), in collaboration with the Industrial Instrument Calibration Center, organized a two-day training program titled “NEW STANDARD ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Requirements and Implementation” at the Castrol Conference Room, Lecture Hall Building 3, 8th Floor.
The training featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ek Chaiyasawat as the guest speaker, providing in-depth insights into the requirements and implementation of the updated ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. Attended by over 50 participants, including laboratory heads, faculty members, staff, and researchers, the program aimed to equip attendees with foundational knowledge and practical skills to apply the new standards effectively in their laboratories.
Key objectives of the training included:
- Enhancing understanding of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
- Developing skills for implementing the updated standards in laboratory operations.
- Promoting excellence in compliance with international standards.
This initiative aimed to support KMUTT laboratories in becoming model facilities for analysis, research, and academic services, fostering expertise and ensuring safety in laboratory operations.
The program aligns with SDG 2030, particularly:
- Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, emphasizing workplace safety and sustainable operations.
Through this training, KMUTT underscores its dedication to advancing laboratory standards and contributing to sustainable and safe working environments.
