EESH Center and Green Heart Students Host “Novice Monks for the Environment” Activity

On April 3, 2019, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) Management Center, together with Green Heart students, organized the “Novice Monks for the Environment” activity at Wat Pho Thong. This event was part of the Summer Ordination Program to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and commemorate the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The activity focused on raising awareness about environmental management, energy conservation, and occupational safety and health among novice monks. Through interactive learning games, participants gained knowledge about environmental preservation and energy efficiency while developing a strong sense of environmental stewardship.

The event also fostered collaboration between the university and local communities, creating a network that promotes sustainable practices at the community level. Over 100 participants joined the activity, which aimed to transform awareness into actionable outcomes in energy and environmental conservation.

The event aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:

  • Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education.
  • Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

This initiative exemplified KMUTT’s commitment to sustainability, education, and fostering meaningful community engagement to address environmental and climate-related challenges.
