On Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, fourth-year students from the Printing and Packaging Technology program, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), organized an academic seminar on the topic of “Carbon Trade & Sustainable Packaging: New Opportunities in the Packaging Industry.” The event took place at the Multi-Purpose Learning Building, 3rd Floor, Multi-Purpose Hall N16-315, KMUTT. Dr. Thanatorn Thongsamerth, Head of the Printing and Packaging Technology program, presided over the opening ceremony. The seminar featured special lectures and discussions by distinguished speakers from various fields, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Thidarat Boonsri from KMUTT, who spoke on “Carbon Trade and the Opportunities and Challenges for Modern Industry”; Ajarn Mayuree Phaklamjiak, who presented on “Guidelines for Designing and Producing Packaging for a Sustainable Future”; and Mr. Thawatchai Athorkit, CEO of Bangkok Blue Ocean Co., Ltd., who lectured on “Transforming Digital-Age Packaging with 3D Printing.” The event aimed to enhance knowledge, convey important and beneficial content across multiple dimensions, and foster understanding regarding carbon trade and sustainable packaging development in the industrial sector. It focused on reducing pollution and addressing the global warming crisis, which poses a challenge for businesses transitioning to a low-carbon and sustainable economy in the long term, as well as changes in consumer behavior and preparing for environmental regulations, reducing unnecessary materials, and promoting recyclable production to meet market demands. The seminar was attended by over 100 participants who engaged in discussions and exchanged ideas.
