On March 21, 2025, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Management Center (EESH), organized the “Change Agent with Green Heart” activity under the theme “Biggest Hour for Earth” at the 1st floor of the Learning Exchange (LX) Building, in celebration of the university’s 65th anniversary. The event aimed to demonstrate the power of energy conservation and inspire behavioral change toward sustainability. Activities included workshops on energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety, along with exhibition booths by internal and external organizations, student innovation showcases, and a symbolic 60 Earth Hour lights-off ceremony. The ceremony was honored by Assistant Professor Dr. Taweesak Kritcharoen, Assistant to the President for Human Resources; Mr. Samanmit Yangthaisong, Assistant Director of Thung Khru District Office; and Mr. Kittinat Kaewthong, Acting Director of the EESH Center, who shared the vision and collaborative efforts behind the initiative. More than just switching off lights for one hour, the event served as a catalyst to cultivate environmentally friendly habits in daily life, such as using energy-efficient products, reducing resource consumption, and fostering environmental awareness. KMUTT continues to establish itself as a model sustainable university aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The university also supports ongoing projects such as the Green School Network, Waste to Zero, and the Change Agent with Green Heart network, which serve as key mechanisms to promote efficient energy use and build a sustainable society both within and beyond the campus.
