On March 10, 2025, the Faculty of Science, KMUTT, organized a training activity titled
“Enhancing Faculty Capacity under the Professional Standards Framework (PSF)” at Room SCL100, N7 Building, Faculty of Science. The training aimed to provide participating faculty members with an understanding of PSF criteria and enable them to effectively prepare documentation for professional recognition at designated levels.
The event was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tula Chutarat, Dean of the Faculty of Science. This session served as a kick-off event to introduce faculty members to KMUTT’s academic development strategy based on the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) for teaching and learning.
The training included an overview and application of the PSF for faculty development at KMUTT, principles for competency assessment, and an introduction to the UK PSF, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanan Mankong, from the School of Architecture and Design.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mayuree Hansuphanusorn, from the Department of Physics, provided an explanation on reflective thinking principles along with examples of reflective writing. Participants also took part in creating individual milestones and engaged in collaborative knowledge-sharing sessions.
In addition, Ms. Noppasorn Suksankaikorn from the Human Resource Development Office provided information on timelines and requirements for applying for UK PSF professional recognition.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parinya Sngiomsunthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, presented the Faculty of Science’s development plan for 2025 and invited faculty members to participate in the 2nd Cohort of the PSF – Learning and Teaching Development Program for the 2024 Academic Year.
The event received great interest from faculty members and marked a significant step toward enhancing teaching capabilities in line with international standards, thereby improving the overall quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning within the Faculty of Science.
