EESH Center Hosts Thammasat University Faculty and Students for Sustainability Management Visit
On December 20, 2018, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH), led by Mr. Phadung Bunphet, representative of the Vice President of KMUTT Bangkhuntien, welcomed a delegation of over 50 faculty members and students from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus, for a tour of KMUTT’s sustainability management systems.
During the visit, the following topics were presented:
- “Green University Model for Sustainability Management” by Mr. Phadung Bunphet.
- “Hazardous Waste Management System for Sustainability” by Mr. Thanakarn Kumpai.
- “Collection, Transportation, and Disposal of Hazardous Waste in Laboratories” by Ms. Arpaporn Dalunchim.
The delegation also toured the Bioethanol Pilot Plant, where Mr. Thanong Chaiyawattana, Engineer, and Mr. Tossapol Kulmai, Technician, provided a detailed explanation of the facility’s operations. The visit continued with a bicycle tour of the laboratory safety systems and the hazardous waste storage facilities.
The visitors showed great interest in KMUTT’s management systems, engaging in discussions and expressing a desire to foster collaboration between the two universities on sustainability initiatives.
This visit supports the SDG 2030 goals, particularly:
- Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, focusing on the health and safety of laboratory personnel.
- Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, with an emphasis on safety and sustainable practices in laboratory management.
The event highlights KMUTT’s leadership in sustainability and its commitment to sharing knowledge and building partnerships for a sustainable future.
