KMUTT Receives Visit from Bangkok Environmental Experts Following Excellence in Green Network Recognition
On October 31, 2018, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by Asst. Prof. Suchada Chaiyasawat, Acting Assistant Director of EESH, welcomed a delegation of experts from the Bangkok Environmental Office and representatives from the Thung Khru District Office.
The visit celebrated KMUTT’s recognition as a Diamond-Level Model Agency in the Bangkok Green Network Project, an accolade awarded in 2017 by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
During the visit, discussions were held on fostering further collaboration between KMUTT and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to promote sustainability in local communities and schools surrounding the university. The initiatives include:
- Developing Green Community and Green School Networks in partnership with BMA.
- Advocating for cleaner environments by reducing single-use plastics under the Say No to Single-Use Plastics campaign.
- Empowering KMUTT’s Green Heart students to carry out activities that disseminate knowledge and expand these practices to neighboring communities and society.
This initiative aligns with SDG 2030, particularly:
- Goal 17: Strengthen partnerships for sustainable development.
The collaboration underscores KMUTT’s commitment to environmental stewardship and its role as a catalyst for sustainable practices within the university and the wider Bangkok community.
