EESH Center and Green Heart Team Welcome New Students with “KMUTT Sustainable University for SDGs 2030” Initiative
On July 7, 2019, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) Center, in collaboration with the Green Heart Team and the Student Affairs Office, hosted the “KMUTT Freshmen Orientation: KMUTT Sustainable University for SDGs 2030” event at the Phra Chomklao Rachanusorn 190th Anniversary Building. The activity aimed to introduce and instill the concept of sustainability in over 3,000 new students for the academic year 2019.
The orientation highlighted KMUTT’s commitment to becoming a Sustainable University for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, focusing on fostering awareness of energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety. Students were encouraged to embrace KMUTT’s Green Heart initiative, cultivating a mindset of sustainability and preparing them to become Change Agents who will extend these principles to their communities and beyond.
This initiative served as a foundation for new students to understand and adopt KMUTT’s green policies, promoting collaboration among student networks and contributing to sustainable development across various domains.
The activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:
- Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for sustainability.
Through this program, KMUTT reaffirms its role as a leader in sustainability education, equipping students with the knowledge and tools to create a meaningful impact on their communities and the environment.
