King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Wins First Place in the 2019 Student Sustainability Project Competition
The Green Heart student group from KMUTT clinched the first prize in the 2019 Student Sustainability Project Competition under the theme “Steps Forward for Sustainable and Green University.” The event was organized by the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand) and held at Srinakharinwirot University on May 1, 2019. The award was presented by Assistant Professor Lt. Dr. Kittikhun Rungruang, Vice President for Development at Ongkharak Campus.
The Green Heart students showcased their initiatives aimed at advancing sustainability at KMUTT in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their work focused on fostering a “Green Heart” mindset through university-based activities, as well as extending their impact to schools and communities. The group emphasized raising awareness and encouraging behavioral changes in environmental conservation, energy efficiency, and safety practices, thereby contributing to societal sustainability.
This achievement reflects KMUTT’s commitment to promoting and implementing sustainability initiatives, resulting in tangible outcomes. The Green Heart team’s efforts were supported by the Sustainable Activity Promotion Unit, the EESH Center, and the Student Financial Aid Unit, along with collaboration from various sectors within the KMUTT community.
The initiatives align with the SDG 2030 goals, particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
