KMUTT Inaugurates Green Society @KMUTT and Launches “Plant Love on Valentine’s Day” Activity

On February 14, 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Solos Suwannayuen, Vice President of KMUTT Bangkhuntien, presided over the inauguration of the Green Society @KMUTT Building and the launch of the “Plant Love on Valentine’s Day: Plant Trees in People’s Hearts” activity. The event was organized by the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH).

KMUTT executives, representatives from various departments, and students participated in tree planting in front of the Green Society @KMUTT Building and explored its facilities. The Green Society Building serves as a hub for students, providing a Co-Working Space for knowledge sharing, collaborative activities, and sustainable development initiatives.

The building also houses the Green Bike Club, which promotes cycling and walking within the campus. Additionally, it serves as a learning center for sustainability, hosting exhibitions and year-round activities to educate students and staff. This initiative aims to nurture KMUTT’s community as Green Hearts—individuals who are knowledgeable, aware, and conscious of energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety. These Green Hearts will act as Change Agents, driving sustainable transformation in Thai and global communities.

This project supports KMUTT’s commitment to SDG 2030, specifically:

Goal 17: Building sustainable networks and partnerships.

Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities.

Goal 13: Climate action to mitigate environmental impacts.
