On 26 August 2026, the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Research Organization for Social Sciences and Humanities under the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN) to promote and develop academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The cooperation covers key areas including social sciences and humanities, the economy and community well-being, and agriculture and food. It aims to create opportunities for knowledge exchange and joint research on issues of importance to both Thailand and Indonesia.
Under this framework, the two institutions will advance a range of academic activities, including joint research funding to support comparative studies in social sciences, humanities, and economics between Thailand and Indonesia. The collaboration will also encompass joint research, surveys, data collection and processing, publications, academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and webinars. In addition, the institutions will exchange scientific and technical information, as well as databases that support their collaborative academic work.
The signing marks another significant step in academic cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia. It also reflects the commitment of STIPI to building partnerships with leading international research institutions and organizations, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, research development, and policy and societal impact across the region.
