King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) led by its Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center, hosted its 20th annual Safety Week from September 19-23, 2022. This year’s theme was “KMUTT United: Advancing Safety Systems, Staying Clear of COVID, Conserving Energy and Environment, and Stepping Towards a Sustainable Low Carbon Society.” The event took place at the multipurpose area on the first floor of the Multidisciplinary Learning Building.

The Safety Week aimed to raise awareness and foster a culture of workplace safety under the ‘New Normal’ among students and staff at all levels within the university. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Saetia, the President of KMUTT, along with other university executives.

Activities included an award ceremony honoring university departments that contributed to safety and sustainability initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the main operating committee, permanent vaccine injection unit volunteers, and other operational teams. There was also a distribution of first aid kits to various departments.

The Safety Week’s activities were designed to align with the New Normal lifestyle, including an exhibition and activity booths promoting safety, following Social Distancing guidelines. Additionally, online safety training sessions were provided for over 2,500 students.

These efforts correspond with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically targeting Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
