On March 1, 2023, at the Ariyasom Meeting Room, the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion held an award ceremony for green area management. The event was presided over by Mr. Somsak Sappakosolkul, the Director-General of the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), represented by Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, the President, assigned Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaivasut, Director of the EESH Center, along with the Building and Grounds Management Office, to receive the award and certificate for Excellent Green Area Management. This recognition is part of the university’s commitment to sustainable green area management and expansion for the year 2022.
Throughout its history, KMUTT has been actively involved in green area management, emphasizing the importance of these spaces in fostering environmental consciousness and effective management practices. These efforts align with the university’s sustainable development policies, including the KMUTT Carbon Neutrality 2040 initiative. This strategy is part of KMUTT’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, contributing to the country’s preparation for Carbon Neutrality 2050. The strategy is vital for reducing environmental pollution, improving quality of life, and creating a balanced ecosystem in accordance with the government’s policies. These activities support the Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, ensuring human settlements are sustainable and resilient.
