EESH Center Organizes World No Tobacco Day 2019 to Promote Health Awareness at KMUTT
On May 30–31, 2019, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) Management Center hosted World No Tobacco Day 2019 at the Phra Chomklao Rachanusorn 190th Anniversary Building at KMUTT. The event aimed to encourage students and staff to prioritize safety and adopt healthier lifestyles by quitting smoking.
The event attracted over 500 participants, including faculty members, students, and staff. Attendees engaged in various activities, including:
- Viewing exhibitions on the dangers and health impacts of smoking.
- Participating in interactive quizzes and games to learn about the harms of tobacco use.
- Signing pledges to abstain from smoking, symbolizing their commitment to being role models for others.
This initiative supported KMUTT’s campaign to create a smoke-free campus, contributing to its vision of becoming a green university.
The event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being – Ensuring the health and well-being of students and staff within the university community.
By promoting tobacco-free lifestyles, KMUTT reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for all members of its community, advancing its sustainable development objectives.
