On June 18, 2018, Asst. Prof. Suchada Chaiyasawat, Director of the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH), and Mr. Thanakarn Kumpai were invited as trainers for the Train of the Trainer Program on Safety for staff members of the Faculty of Engineering. The program was held at the Dean’s Conference Room 1, 3rd Floor, Lecture Hall Building 4, KMUTT, and was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiya Damkham, Deputy Dean for Administration, Faculty of Engineering.
The objective of this training was to develop a team of trainers who could disseminate safety skills and knowledge for use in laboratories and workshops. Participants, including researchers, staff, and students, were prepared to relay the training to incoming first-year students, creating a multiplier effect for safety awareness and practices.
The program was attended by over 50 participants and focused on:
- Equipping trainers with practical safety skills for laboratories and workshops.
- Building a culture of safety among staff and students.
- Promoting knowledge-sharing and the integration of safety into academic practices.
This initiative aligns with KMUTT’s sustainability goals and the SDG 2030, specifically:
- Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being.
- Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
By fostering a safety-conscious culture, the program contributes to KMUTT’s vision of being a sustainable university, while ensuring the safety and well-being of its academic community.
