The activity titled “Mangrove Planting in Honor of His Majesty the King” was held on July 25, 2023, by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, Rama X, on July 28. The event, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, the President of the University, included a ceremony to pay tribute and offer royal blessings. The mangrove planting symbolized respect and gratitude for His Majesty’s tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to improving the nation’s welfare and alleviating the hardships of Thai people.

Key participants included the university’s executives, staff, students, Drun Sikhalai School (Wittaya Manasikarn), the District Chief of Mueang Samut Sakhon, the Deputy Mayor of Phanthai Norasing Subdistrict Administrative Organization, officers from the Tien Talay Metropolitan Police Station and Khokkham Police Station, schools like Thaweethapisek Bang Khun Thian and Klong Phittayalongkorn School, community leaders, and local residents. They collectively planted 7,010 mangrove trees at the university’s Bang Khun Thian campus in Phanthai Norasing Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province.

The event also included the singing of royal anthems and a report by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nakharin Phattanabunmi, representative of the TC 3 Group, 8th Division, on the objectives of the event. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, as the President, officially opened the event, leading the collective effort in mangrove planting. This initiative not only honored the King’s benevolence but also contributed to environmental conservation and sustainability.
