Say no single use plastics at KMUTT (Bangkhuntein campus)

EESH Center Hosts “Say No to Single-Use Plastics” Roadshow at KMUTT Bangkhuntien

On December 18, 2018, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized the “Say No to Single-Use Plastics” Roadshow at the Bangkhuntien campus. The primary objective was to raise awareness among students and staff about preventing environmental pollution caused by single-use plastic packaging and to promote actionable solutions for reducing plastic waste and combating global warming.

The event also aligned with KMUTT’s commitment to fostering “Green Heart” values among its community, emphasizing energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety awareness. Participants were encouraged to act as Change Agents, spreading knowledge and sustainable practices to their communities.

Over 200 participants attended the event, which supported the university’s sustainability declaration. The initiative reflects KMUTT’s active role in addressing environmental challenges and its dedication to advancing sustainability.

This activity aligns with SDG 2030, particularly:

  • Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
  • Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
  • Goal 14: Prevent and reduce marine pollution of all kinds.

The roadshow highlights KMUTT’s leadership in promoting sustainable practices and its commitment to environmental stewardship both on campus and beyond.
