Road cleaning and PM2.5 management at KMUTT (Bangkhuntein campus)

Bangkhuntien Campus Hosts “Clean Roads and Dust Management” Activity with EESH Center and Local Community

On February 11, 2019, the Physical Resource Administration Office at KMUTT Bangkhuntien (PRA Bangkhuntien), in collaboration with the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH) and the local community, organized the “Bangkhuntien Unites for Clean Roads and Dust Management” activity.

The event, led by Asst. Prof. Suchada Chaiyasawat, Director of the EESH Center, and Mr. Phadung Bunphet, gathered over 100 participants including KMUTT staff, students, personnel, and members of the surrounding community. Participants worked together to clean roads and sidewalks within the Bangkhuntien campus, aiming to reduce dust levels.

Following the cleaning effort, attendees participated in a workshop conducted by EESH experts, including Ms. Suta Khunwong, a PM2.5 specialist. The workshop provided valuable insights into air pollution and effective methods for protecting oneself from fine particulate matter (PM2.5).

This collaborative initiative involved multiple stakeholders to address and mitigate dust pollution in Bangkok. It also served to extend KMUTT’s expertise and best practices to the community, fostering knowledge-sharing and the development of effective solutions.

The activity aligns with SDG 2030, particularly:

  • Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.

This event highlights KMUTT’s commitment to environmental and community health through practical action and education.
