Bangkok Green Model Awards 2017

KMUTT receives Royal Award (Bangkok Green Model Awards) 2017 on 20 July 2017. These awards provide for an organization which has the preparation of action plan, and design a campaign to engage the community to adopt an environmental friendly lifestyle.

National Awards THAILAND ENERGY AWARDS (2005,2008,2011,2012,2013,2015)

Thailand “Energy Awards” started in 2000 as an annual activity organized by Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) under the Ministry of Energy. These awards aim to encourage energy conservation leadership in enterprises, to praise and applaud the companies and people of excellence in energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as to promote projects and technologies. This public campaign event supports to the implementation of ENCON Act and ENCON Program, and with necessary funding support from ENCON Fund.

It is classified into five categories including “Renewable Energy Projects (on-grid, off-grid and biomass co-generation ”, “ Industry and building energy efficiency improvement ”, “innovations” and “outstanding individuals and the team performance in energy efficiency in plants/building,” and ”support for energy conservation (Such as academia, NGOs, banks, etc ” .

The awarded entities/projects/or personnel would be the leading role models in energy conservation in Thailand, and some would represent Thailand at the ASEAN level. The public event for awarding is hosted by DEDE every year. The winner of the awards will receive the recognition from the prime minister and ministerial level officials. It is one of the most important environmental / energy related awards in Thailand .

KMUTT won Thailand Energy Awards 2005

Prime Minister of Energy Ministry has presented Thailand Energy Awards 2005 to Assoc. Prof. Dr. SolotSuwanyuen , KMUTT Vice President, at Grand Hotel . KMUTT won the Outstanding High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus, which is the first Thailand Energy Awards that KMUTT has received from the Ministry of Energy

Thailand Energy Awards 2005 is aim to award executive person and organization that support alternative energy development and energy conservation. KMUTT was awarded in the category of the the Outstanding High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus.The award was the result of KMUTT activities which set up the Energy conservation policy to Energy usage reduction 30 % by the year 2020.KMUTT support our student & staff promote Energy conservation program in our university which can reduced more than 5 % electrical usage within our university in the first year .KMUTT initiate “ From Waste to Energy “ Project which implement to use used oil waste from KMUTT canteen to biodiesel production for alternative energy usage within our canteen. In addition, KMUTT use organic waste from Municipal waste segregation to make organic fertilizer which can be used for gardening and planting with in our university . Moreover KMUTT initiate the Rural Solar Energy project which help more than 3 natural parks for sustainable energy consumption in their parks.

KMUTT won Thailand Energy Awards 2008

 Minister PoonpiroomLiptapunllop from Ministry of Energy has presented Thailand Energy Awards 2008 to KMUTT President , Assoc. Prof. Dr. KraiwoodKiatkomom , KMUTT President, at at Santi Maitri building, the Government House. Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy announced Thailand Energy Awards 2008 with the aim to award organizations and persons that support alternative energy development and energy conservation. KMUTT won the Outstanding High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus, which is the 2nd Thailand Energy Awards that KMUTT has received from the Ministry of Energy

KMUTT was awarded Thailand Energy Awards 2008 in the category of High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus. The award was the result of KMUTT activities which promote energy conservation and renewable usage in our university by using Energy Park Demonstration site which promote renewable energy usage with in our campus. KMUTT also has more than 30 researches and teaching courses focus on Energy conservation and Renewable Energy usage .Moreover ,KMUTT has Research Excellence center on ECO Waste which specialist on Biogas production technology focus on Agricultural waste usage. ECO Waste Excellence center is one of research group which help more than 10 agricultural industries per year to turn their waste inyo Energy in the form of Biogas. These activities make high impact to reduce energy usage in their industries and make high benefits on renewable usage by using their own biogas production tanks.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has presented Thailand Energy Awards 2011 to KMUTT representative , Assoc. Prof. Dr. SolotSuwanyuen , KMUTT Bangkhunthien Vice President, at at Santi Maitri building, the Government House. Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy announced Thailand Energy Awards 2011 with the aim to award organizations and persons that support alternative energy development and energy conservation. KMUTT won the Outstanding High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus, which is the 3rd Thailand Energy Awards that KMUTT has received from the Ministry of Energy .

KMUTT was awarded Thailand Energy Awards 2011 in the category of High educational Institute which support energy conservation and renewable usage in the campus. The award was the result of KMUTT activities which promote energy conservation and renewable usage in our university by using Energy Park Demonstration site which promote renewable energy usage with in our campus. KMUTT also has more than 50 researches and teaching courses focus on Energy conservation and Renewable Energy usage from School of Energy ,Materials and Environment Technology ,JGSEE ,Faculty of Engineering . KMUTT has more than 5 Research groups focus on Energy conservation and Renewable Energy innovations. Moreover ,KMUTT initiate Bioethanol pilot plant which can produce 95 % of Bioethanol from tapioca waste water and pine apple waste from pineapple processing industries. These activities make high impact to promote renewable usage and waste utilization from waste to energy concept in their industries and make high benefits on energy cost reduction in their industries.

KMUTT won the Outstanding person and organization which support energy conservation and renewable usage in organization, which is the 4th Thailand Energy Awards that KMUTT has received from the Ministry of Energy .

KMUTT was awarded Thailand Energy Awards 2012 in the category of the Outstanding person and organization which support energy conservation and renewable usage in our campus and schools & communities surrounding. The award was the result of KMUTT activities which promote Renewable Energy usage in our university by using Solar cell , initiate Clean ED95 Bus shuttle service between Bangmod-Bangkhunthien campus , initiate KMUTT Green School network which have more than 42 school members to create their energy conservation &renewable energy usage planning and implementation in their school , initiate “ Recyclable waste bank “ in communities surrounding .These projects run by our students and staff with volunteer activities which help to make sustainable energy consumption in our university and communities surrounded .

KMUTT won the Outstanding person and organization which support energy conservation in organization, which is the 5th Thailand Energy Awards that KMUTT has received from the Ministry of Energy

Thailand Energy Awards 2013 is aim to award executive person and organization that support alternative energy development and energy conservation. KMUTT was awarded in the category of the Outstanding person and organization which support energy conservation .The award was the result of KMUTT activities which support our student & staff promote Clean Energy usage in our university, initiate Walk & Bike society in KMUTT ,initiate “ From Waste to Energy “ Project which implement to use food waste from KMUTT canteen to biogas production for alternative energy usage within our canteen. In addition, fermented juice and sludge from biogas fermentation can be used to make organic fertilizer which can be used for gardening and planting with in our university . These projects turn to be demonstration site and learning space for our student and staff for alternative energy development and energy conservation usage within our university. Moreover KMUTT initiate the Rural Renewable Energy project which help more than 20 in Highland rural communities can be use Solar cell, Wind turbine and Hydro Electrical power for sustainable energy consumption in their communities under the Sufficient Economy Concept .

KMUTT receives Bangkok Green City network Awards 2014 on 22 March 2014. These awards provide for an organization which has the preparation of action plan, and design a campaign to engage the community to adopt an environmental friendly lifestyle.
