KMUTT ZOM BIKE 2022 – Reviving Old Bicycles

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by the Sustainable Activities Promotion Group, in collaboration with KMUTT Green Bike Club and the KMUTT Student Dormitory, organized the Zombike event, which was about reviving old bicycles. The concept was to transform old bikes into new ones with your own effort – “Change your old bike to be new by your made.” The event aimed to promote bicycle knowledge and increase bicycle usage within the university. Held on November 26, 2025, at the Green Society Building, the activity involved refurbishing old bicycles to create new ones from used bicycle remains. All participating students took pride in reviving bicycles and creating their own Zombike. They learned about various bicycle parts and how to assemble them. The event was also supported by KMUTT Green Bike Club, inviting friends to revive old bicycles, resulting in over 60 Zombikes for daily use. The event attracted the attention of more than 60 KMUTT students and staff. Participants gained pride and understanding in selecting bicycle components and assembling their bikes. This initiative is part of creating a sustainable bicycle society at KMUTT. It aligns with the university’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 13: Climate Action, emphasizing the importance of energy and limited water resources and the need to prepare for climate change and its impacts.
