Green Heart Volunteers Clean Waterways for Loy Krathong Festival at KMUTT

On November 8, 2019, over 50 Green Heart student volunteers from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) participated in a community service activity to clean the waterways around the university in preparation for the Loy Krathong Festival. The event honored Phra Mae Khongkha, the Goddess of Water, by maintaining the cleanliness of canals and ensuring a pristine environment for the festival.

This activity showcased the commitment of the younger generation to environmental preservation, emphasizing the importance of clean waterways for a better quality of life and sustainable urban living. It also supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically:

  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Promoting sustainable practices to improve urban living environments.

The initiative was supported by the EESH Center, the Student Financial Assistance Office, and the Thung Khru District Office, underscoring KMUTT’s dedication to fostering sustainability and community collaboration. This effort highlighted the role of students as active contributors to environmental protection and sustainable development.
