King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is set to highlight its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions at the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2024. The event will take place from July 3-5, 2024, at Hall 1, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Visitors to the KMUTT booth can explore an array of initiatives and research aimed at promoting sustainable development across three key areas:
1. People
- Student Innovations: Featuring projects from students who won the ‘Final Pitching Day Innovation for KMUTT Sustainability 2024: Let’s Create our Future’. These innovative ideas are being implemented to enhance sustainability on campus.
- Educational Programs: Showcasing energy and environmental courses from the School of Energy, Environment, and Materials.
- Clean Energy Solutions: Highlighting the Kiriwong Hydroelectric Turbine project, a prototype for clean energy management in remote areas of the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range, developed by the Integrated Clean Energy Systems Research Laboratory.
2. Planet
- Carbon Neutrality 2040: An overview of KMUTT’s policies and strategies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
- Research Initiatives: Presenting the work of the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment Laboratory, including biomass research from agricultural waste and energy management from landfill waste, conducted by the X-ray Men research team from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment.
3. Prosperity
- Electric Vehicles: Demonstrating the ‘Autonomous Electric Bus Prototype (LV3)’ utilizing 5G technology, developed by the Mobility and Vehicle Technology Research Center.
