KMUTT Hosts the 17th Bangkok-to-Chang Hua Man Royal Project Cycling Event: “Ride in the Footsteps of the King”

On December 3, 2018, Mr. Suchart Pruetpring, Advisor to the President of KMUTT, presided over the opening of the 17th Bangkok-to-Chang Hua Man Royal Project Cycling Event: “Ride in the Footsteps of the King.” The event, organized in collaboration with KMUTT, Suan Thon Gold City Cycling Club, and Hua Hin Municipality, attracted over 500 cyclists who completed a challenging 150-kilometer route.

This year’s event emphasized energy conservation and responsible waste management under the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” It aimed to raise awareness and inspire action to reduce environmental pollution caused by plastic waste. The event also promoted the Green Society concept among cyclists by advocating for policies such as No Plastic Foam for food packaging.

The initiative aligns with KMUTT’s vision of becoming a sustainable green university, continually advancing sustainability in line with the SDG 2030 goals, specifically:

  • Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.
  • Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
  • Goal 17: Strengthen partnerships for sustainable development.

In addition to promoting health and fitness, proceeds from participant registration were donated to Ban Yang Chum School, furthering the event’s social impact and commitment to community development.
