On June 2, 2022, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized a mangrove planting event in honor of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s royal birthday, which is celebrated on June 3, 2023. This event was held as a tribute and to express the utmost gratitude and reverence for Her Majesty the Queen. It was also an opportunity for the university community, including students, staff, and local residents, to come together and demonstrate their loyalty and dedication to the Thai monarchy.
The participants planted mangrove trees at a new location within King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi in Phanthai Norasing, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province. This initiative aimed to conserve and restore the nation’s natural resources, ensuring a balanced ecosystem and mitigating the impact of greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the activity supports policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing and promoting net-zero carbon projects as part of the institution’s commitment to give back to society and our planet.

- Goal 14: Conservation of aquatic resources and marine ecosystems.
