EESH Center and Green Heart Team Introduce Sustainability to New Students with “KMUTT Sustainable University for SDGs 2030” Initiative

On July 7, 2019, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) Center, in collaboration with the Green Heart Team and the Student Affairs Office, organized the “KMUTT Freshmen Orientation: KMUTT Sustainable University for SDGs 2030” at the Phra Chomklao Rachanusorn 190th Anniversary Building. The event welcomed over 3,000 new students for the academic year 2019, introducing them to the university’s commitment to sustainability.

The orientation emphasized KMUTT’s role as a Sustainable University, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. It focused on raising awareness about energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety, while promoting the Green Heart initiative to instill a culture of sustainability. Students were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices and prepare to become Change Agents, capable of extending these principles to their communities.

This initiative served as a foundation for new students to embrace KMUTT’s green policies, fostering collaboration within student networks and contributing to sustainable development across diverse areas.

The program supports the following SDG 2030 goals:

  • Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Through this initiative, KMUTT reaffirms its leadership in sustainability education by equipping students with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive impactful change within their communities and contribute to a sustainable future.
