KMUTT Expands PM2.5 Awareness with Green School Network at Chusin Thongpradit Anusorn School
On June 17, 2019, as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Student Financial Assistance Office, the EESH Center, and the Green Heart Team, organized an educational and leadership-building activity at Chusin Thongpradit Anusorn School. Themed “United for Understanding and Addressing PM2.5 Pollution,” the event was part of the KMUTT Green School Network: 60 Schools to Tackle PM2.5 initiative, aiming to foster sustainable social well-being and environmental responsibility.
The Green Heart Team developed and donated an iCheck device, a tool to measure air quality and PM2.5 levels, to the school. This innovation enables schools in high-risk areas to monitor pollution levels, develop effective preventive strategies, and address air quality issues sustainably. The team also provided educational materials and conducted integrated activities to build awareness about PM2.5 and its impact.
This initiative aimed to equip participants with knowledge and practical tools to combat air pollution while extending its impact to the wider community.
The program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being – Promoting health and quality of life through education and prevention.
- Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Encouraging sustainable practices to improve urban and community living conditions.
KMUTT continues to lead efforts in sustainability and environmental education, driving meaningful change and supporting communities in creating healthier, more sustainable futures.
