On February 14, 2025, the Faculty of Science at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized a hands-on training workshop titled “Teamwork and Collaboration”. This workshop aimed to enhance the teamwork skills of support personnel, preparing them to become professional executive assistants and equipping them with proactive working approaches to increase efficiency in their daily tasks.
The session was conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thaveesak Kritcharoen, Assistant to the President for Human Resources and faculty member at the Graduate School of Management and Innovation (GMI), KMUTT.
Key Focus Areas of the Training
The training emphasized group activities that encouraged brainstorming and teamwork skills, based on four key principles: Creativity, Value, Familiarity, and Ambiguity under the Lifelong Learning concept. Participants were guided on how to apply these insights to their real work environments effectively.
Additionally, the session introduced the 6Cs Model for Building Powerful Teams, consisting of:
1️⃣ Common Goals – Establishing shared objectives
2️⃣ Contribution from Others – Recognizing the importance of each team member’s input
3️⃣ Cohesion – Strengthening team unity
4️⃣ Collaboration – Enhancing cooperative efforts
5️⃣ Commitment to Support – Encouraging mutual assistance within the team
6️⃣ Coaching Mindset – Fostering continuous development through coaching
The workshop also included practical strategies to implement the 6Cs Model, such as:
✅ Writing clear and shared team goals
✅ Understanding team roles and responsibilities
✅ Cultivating a strong team identity
✅ Applying various teamwork approaches
✅ Supporting team processes from multiple perspectives
✅ Developing communication and interaction skills through coaching
Furthermore, the training integrated the concept of Powerful Teams with the DISC Personality Model (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness) and the Predictive Index (PI) framework, which classifies 17 behavioral profiles. These tools, currently adopted by KMUTT, help personnel understand themselves and their colleagues better, fostering a more productive and harmonious work environment.
A Step Towards Long-Term Organizational Success
This training was part of the Faculty of Science’s staff development program, designed to help personnel:
✔ Systematically improve their routine work processes
✔ Create impactful and practical outcomes
✔ Share and transfer knowledge to contribute to the organization’s long-term success
By fostering teamwork, effective collaboration, and self-awareness, this initiative plays a crucial role in enhancing the work culture within KMUTT, ensuring sustainable organizational growth and success.
