On August 3, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Vice President for Student Development, presided over the opening ceremony of the Green Heart Camp 2018 @ KMUTT Bangkhuntien, themed “KMUTT Green University for Sustainable Development Goals 2030.” The event was held at KMUTT Bangkhuntien and welcomed over 700 students, including freshmen and senior mentors.
Asst. Prof. Suchada Chaisawadi, Director of the EESH Center, and Mr. Phadung Boonpetch, Director of the Bangkhuntien Physical Resources Office, extended their welcome to participants. Organized by the Sustainability Promotion Unit of the EESH Center, in collaboration with KMUTT Bangkhuntien, the Student Organization, and the Student Affairs Office, the camp aimed to:
- Foster understanding and awareness of energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety within the university framework.
- Encourage students to learn from real-world environments and interactive learning stations.
The camp emphasized the importance of unifying sustainable practices across the university and prepared participants to become Change Agents, capable of sharing their knowledge and spreading sustainable practices within their communities.
The Green Heart Camp supports KMUTT’s vision of being a sustainable university and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:
- Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and strengthen resilience through effective planning and management.
Through initiatives like this, KMUTT continues to promote sustainability, nurturing environmentally conscious leaders who can drive positive change and contribute to a sustainable future for Thailand and beyond.
