Satit Pitudecha, deputy minister to the Ministry of Public Health, as a guest of honor, attended the delivery event of “Mod Boriraksa” robot with Dr. Kanit Saengsuphan, secretary to the committee of EEC, acting as the proxy to provide the robots to the 4 major hospitals of the EEC region, including: Buddhasothorn Hospital, Rayong Hospital, Chonburi Hospital, and Banglamung Hospital in order to help in risk reduction for medical staffs at the forefront of COVID-19 pandemic and to increase their service for better life quality of the people in EEC region. The project was expected to help citizens access medical service with high technology. The robots were the products of collaboration between EEC committee (as sponsors) and Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO), KMUTT. The “Mod Boriraksa” consisted of 3 forms: SOFA, the doctor’s assistant which can be controlled remotely while data-linking to the hospital database and making video calls to make direct conversation with patients. It can deliver food, medicine, and other medical supplies. Mum I!, the service robot was also remotely controllable. The robots were at the time, successfully integrated into Chonburi hospital and were expected to finish their integration in all 4 hospitals of EEC region in December 2020.
