KMUTT Green School Network Brings PM2.5 Awareness to Bang Mod Tan Pow Wittayakhan School

On June 25, 2019, as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Student Financial Assistance Office, the EESH Center, and the Green Heart Team, organized an educational activity at Bang Mod Tan Pow Wittayakhan School. Under the theme “United for Understanding and Addressing PM2.5 Pollution,” this activity is part of the KMUTT Green School Network: 60 Schools to Tackle PM2.5 initiative, aimed at fostering sustainable social well-being and green practices.

The Green Heart Team developed and donated an iCheck device, an air quality monitoring tool designed to measure PM2.5 levels, to Bang Mod Tan Pow Wittayakhan School. The team also provided a range of educational materials and conducted integrated activities to build awareness about PM2.5 pollution and its management. This initiative equips schools in high-risk areas with tools to monitor air quality, develop preventive measures, and implement sustainable solutions.

The program aims to enhance understanding among students and staff while expanding knowledge-sharing to the broader community, supporting actionable and long-term solutions for air quality issues.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly:

  • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being – Promoting health and quality of life through knowledge and prevention.
  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Encouraging sustainable practices to improve urban and community environments.

Through this activity, KMUTT reinforces its commitment to sustainability and environmental education, driving impactful change and empowering communities to tackle pressing environmental challenges.
