KMUTT focus on integrated Sustainable Concept into curriculum and provide scholarship for Energy and/or Environment Research
At KMUTT, our commitment to education goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. Guided by the principle of “Anyone can Learn Anywhere Anytime,” we emphasize self-directed learning through innovative e-Learning platforms and have developed dynamic learning environments across our campus. These spaces include the serene Learning Garden, the multi-level Learning Exchange from the first to the fourth floor of the Learning Exchange Building, and the globally-focused International Learning Space at the Faculty of Liberal Arts.
In line with our mission to address the critical challenges of our time, KMUTT places a strong emphasis on sustainability education. Our courses and projects equip students and staff with a deep understanding of complex issues like climate change adaptation and mitigation, energy conservation, renewable energy, waste and water management, and green transportation.
At KMUTT, learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. We have transformed our campuses into living laboratories, where students can engage with real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future. Our initiatives focus not only on making campus operations environmentally friendly but also on educating and inspiring students and staff to become environmentally conscious leaders. By fostering an atmosphere of innovation and sustainability, we prepare our graduates to drive positive change for generations to come.

Current Status: In 2024, 73.09% of courses and subjects in KMUTT are related to sustainability concepts.
Green Courses in KMUTT
KMUTT embraces the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) philosophy to ensure effective teaching and meaningful learning experiences. OBE is a learner-centered approach that prioritizes what students achieve through their learning rather than simply focusing on what is taught. This method measures student performance based on their ability to meet clearly defined learning outcomes, making the learning process more targeted and impactful.
In addition to the core curriculum, KMUTT offers General Education (GEN Ed) courses that complement students’ specialized studies. These courses equip students with essential skills in scientific research methodology and the design process, empowering them to create innovative projects that tackle real-world challenges. Through hands-on activities and field trips, students engage deeply with community issues, gaining practical knowledge and insights.
These experiences foster a greater understanding of social and environmental problems, preparing students to become agents of positive social change. By applying the principles learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios, KMUTT students develop the skills needed to contribute to a more sustainable and just future.
Number of courses and modules related to environment and sustainability offered in 2023 = 1569 courses from 2,059 courses which is 76.20 %.
KMUTT integrated teaching and research by incorporating the content of SDGs 2030 into the courses, projects, works, and researches in order to create innovation and to develop Thai and global society for sustainability.
