On February 17-18, 2023, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, through its Sustainable Activity Promotion Group, the Energy, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Center (EESH Center), in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office and the Student Financial Assistance Group, organized a training program on waste management and sustainable development activities. This was part of the 7th Materials Games, a sports event aimed at fostering relationships between seven network universities. The event took place at the King Mongkut Memorial Building, 190th Anniversary.

The Green Heart student group led the volunteer activities in waste management, including the innovative concept of ‘Speaker Bin’ or talking trash bins. These bins are designed to educate users on proper waste disposal and foster environmental management consciousness. The initiative aimed to extend the impact of proper environmental management, contributing to the creation of a sustainable green society in the future. It also fostered a learning network among network universities. The event, which welcomed over 1,000 participants, received positive feedback and praise, serving as a model for future events. The activities align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
