Training Project on Waste Management and Sustainable Development Activities Booth for 17 Goals (Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs) at the Engineering Games, Faculty of Engineering

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, under the Sustainable Activity Promotion Group of the Center for Energy, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Management (EESH Center), in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office and the Student Financial Assistance Group, organized a training project on waste management and a booth for sustainable development activities, focusing on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This was part of the Engineering Games, a sports event aimed at fostering relationships within the Faculty of Engineering. The event took place on March 4-5, 2023, at the university.

The student group ‘Green Heart’ led the volunteer activities, including managing waste at the event with an innovative concept called ‘Speaker Bin’ or talking trash bins. These bins educate users on proper waste disposal and foster environmental management awareness. The initiative not only promotes better environmental practices but also aims to create a sustainable green society in the future. It also fosters a learning network among universities. The event, with more than 500 participants, was well-received and praised as a model for future events. The activities align with SDG 2030, specifically Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
