King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prasert Kanthamanon, Senior Vice President for Administration, Assoc. Prof. Suchada Chaisawadi, Director of the EESH Center, along with the EESH Center team and Green Heart students, participated in the 7th Annual Conference of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (THE 7TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSITY NETWORK OF THAILAND) and the first meeting of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN THAILAND) members for the year 2023. The theme of the conference was “Actions toward the low-carbon world,” held on January 19-20, 2023, at Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak District, Nakhon Nayok Province.
Mr. Sampun Yensararn, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), inaugurated the event. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Santiwatanakul, President of Srinakharinwirot University, delivered the welcome address, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Kittikun Rungreung, President of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand for the year 2025, Vice President of Srinakharinwirot University, reported on the conference.
The meeting provided an opportunity for network universities to exchange experiences and learn from each other. The event featured poster and oral presentations showcasing the sustainability initiatives of faculty, staff, and students. Attendees also visited and studied sustainability projects. The event aimed to enhance collaborative efforts within the education sector, private sector, and other relevant domestic and international sectors, positioning these institutions as role models for sustainable development in society. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2030, specifically Goal 17, which emphasizes the importance of cooperation among university networks to promote sustainable development.
