A group of students from the Green Heart organization at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) participated in the Student Project Challenge 2021, held during the 6th Annual Conference of Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand 2021) on January 21, 2022. The event took place online via KU WebEx Meeting.

The Green Heart team presented their project titled “Ant Workers, COVID-19 Fighters,” which aimed to promote sustainability actions among students under the theme “The Next Normal: Sustainability Actions for Higher Education during COVID-19.” The project received the 2nd place award in the competition, recognizing the students’ efforts in promoting sustainability and addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic.

The students not only contributed to planning and implementing the project but also played a crucial role in driving the activities forward. The project not only raised awareness about safety but also developed various skills and promoted sustainability within the community at KMUTT.

The student team consisted of Akkaraphan Thaweesak, Manakawin Puwipinyokul, and Supawadee Pusanaam. The EESH Center and the Student Financial Assistance Office provided guidance and support throughout the project.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It aims to create a sustainable university community and expand the seeds of sustainability to the surrounding communities, contributing to long-term development.
