The Green Heart student team from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), named “New Gen High Voltage,” won the second runner-up prize for their innovation, the Safety MEA(n) U device, designed to minimize damage to electric poles. They were awarded a prize of 20,000 baht and a certificate in the Demo Day: MEA Hackathon for Smart Energy 2021 competition, held on March 8, 2022. This competition, which took place on August 14-15, 2021, was a part of the “IoT Solutions for Smart Energy System” theme.

The competition was a platform for innovators to develop and present prototype products, supported by a grant of 80,000 baht per team to transform new ideas into practical applications. The event aimed to address the public’s needs and align with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority’s (MEA) vision for urban lifestyle energy solutions. Supported by MEA, the event was organized by the Science Park, Prince of Songkla University, in collaboration with MEA and the Faculty of Engineering, Prince of Songkla University.

The student team, comprising Mr. Akarapan Taweekit, Mr. Monasgwin Phupinyokul, and Ms. Suphawadi Phusnam, was supported by KMUTT’s Student Financial Assistance Office, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Sustainable Activity Promotion Group of the EESH Center. Their participation and achievements align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
