On June 29 and July 6, 2566, the Center for Energy, Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (EESH) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Bang Khun Thian organized a basic firefighting training program. This program was tailored according to the standards set by the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labor. The target audience for this training included students from the Science and Engineering classroom program, university staff, and faculty.

The opening ceremony of this training session was presided over by Dr. Kongkan Wachirapang, Director of the Science and Engineering Classroom Office. The training content was delivered by experts from the Bang Khun Thian Fire Station, covering essential firefighting techniques and procedures.

This training aimed to equip students, faculty, emergency response teams of various university buildings, and security personnel with essential knowledge and skills for initial emergency response. By learning the correct usage of firefighting equipment and initial emergency handling techniques, participants can efficiently tackle initial emergency situations that may arise.

The session saw participation from over 50 individuals. Such training not only ensures compliance with legal mandates but also reinforces KMUTT’s commitment to energy, environmental, safety, and occupational health management.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – specifically, Goal 3 which focuses on good health and well-being, and Goal 11 that emphasizes sustainable cities and communities, underscoring the importance of safety and well-being of university personnel.
