King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, through its Sustainable Activity Promotion Group, Energy Environment Safety and Health Center (EESH Center), in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and the Financial Aid Group for Students, organized a volunteer project for waste management and activities to support the reduction of single-use plastics. This initiative was part of the “Say no to single-use plastics” theme within the Engineering Open House Carnival at Bangmod, held on October 14-15, 2023, at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.

The student group Green Heart led the waste management activities, including the innovative “Speaker Bin” concept, which educates individuals about proper waste disposal to foster environmental awareness. This initiative also aimed to promote effective environmental management, creating a foundation for a sustainable green society in the future. Additionally, the project facilitated a learning network among the university community. The event received positive feedback from participants and served as a model for future events. Over 1,500 people participated in this event, aligning with the SDG 2030 goals, particularly Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), promoting sustainable development practices.
