On February 1, 2022, the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) Center, led by Assoc. Prof. Sutthada Chaisawat, Director of the EESH Center, along with faculty members from the EESH Center, were invited as guest lecturers for the course SSC 291 “Humans and the Environment.” The lecture took place at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).
During the lecture, the EESH team discussed the topic of “Green University Management.” Furthermore, students had the opportunity to visit the university’s energy, environmental, safety, and health management systems through a learning-based activity. The aim was to create awareness, understanding, and a sense of responsibility for energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety within the university’s system.
More than 50 participants gained knowledge and understanding from the event and are ready to apply these principles consistently within the university. They are prepared to become change agents who will disseminate and expand these practices to the surrounding community and society, contributing to sustainable development for the nation.
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, particularly Goal 13 (Climate Action) by promoting mechanisms to enhance capacity for climate planning and management that lead to effective climate change adaptation and mitigation in the country. It supports the creation of a sustainable university in line with the goals of SDGs 2030.
