Themed “Do it yourself: Make Our World Beautiful with Our Hands: The Power of Small Actions for Our Planet”, the event took place on Monday, June 5, 2023. Mr. Chatri Watthanached, the Deputy Secretary-General of Bangkok, presided over the opening ceremony.

Key figures from BMA, Environmental Office, and Bangkok Northern Area Group, as well as network partners, participated in tree planting and DIY upcycling product activities at Vachirabenjatas Park, Chatuchak District, Bangkok. This year, KMUTT showcased an exhibition titled “KMUTT Join to Beat Plastic Pollution”, emphasizing the community’s commitment to refraining from using single-use plastics. The exhibition also highlighted the university’s initiatives to reduce plastic waste. Additionally, a workshop on crafting accessories from sea fan corals was led by Ms. Wilaiwan Prathumwong, one of the co-founders of SAFETist Farm, an eco-friendly learning center by the canal and a robust network ally of KMUTT.

Visitors were introduced to natural bio-cement innovations and a magnetic pigment mixed paint dome created by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thidarat Boonsri. Also featured was an eco-friendly compost bin innovation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surapong Chudej. The event aimed to raise awareness and instill a sense of responsibility to reduce plastic waste and preserve the environment.
